THE OFFICIAL BLINDSIDER

For those who don't know,
We proudly introduce the official BLIND SIDE TATTOO, trademark
"The Blind Sider" aka  "The Blind Guy"
recreated in By Mr Siego 2009

Creation and Evolution of the Blind Guy

The character represents my nick name "Siego" (ciego) meaning blind in spanish. The name was given to me due to very poor vision and complications after eye surgery. The sketch was created in 2004 after the idea was given to me by my best friend Ndeo.  The character debut on my first business card, designed by Ndeo and was ment to be all blue but was misprinted in purple.

Anyone with an old Mr Siegoe or BlindSide Tattoo card feel free to compare.

Destined for a BLINDSIDE TATTOO

Its beginning to be very rare that as a tattoo artist I get to work on a clean canvas. I recently had the opportunity to do so, on my little homie, Michael  Jimenez.

The last time I saw him he was 3 or 4 yrs. old and I was "old enough" and already up to no good. I was surprised to see that after 15 yrs. he hadn't ruined his skin with unsterile needles, primitive and unprofessional equipment, as many other have done.

Im glad that he waited to get his first tattoo the right way and felt honored that he got it from me.
He requested  a cross and the outline of the state of Texas so I did, with my own "twist"...

Thanks for stopping by Mike, Good luck with your school and hope to see you soon for a next one.
Oh and make sure you bump that Constant Threat CD

FIELD TRIP TO SPAR ART STUDIO

Last week the Blind Side took a little field trip to visit our good friend, and fellow visionary, Joshua "SPAR" Esparza.

We had a great time touring the Spar Art Studio, his paintings are always enlightening, inspirational and very colorful. To bad time flies when your having fun, so the city of Austin rewarded us with a parking ticket. We imediately went to the Austin Municiple court to get it dismissed, unfortunately we waisted time because the meter was actually 3 minutes expired.

Here is a peak of his private studio in downtown Austin. Keep posted we'll have info of his upcoming art show November 20th - 21st.

Spar Thanks for having us, its always enlightening. Thanks for sharing the wisdom and keeping us motivated.                                       -Mr Siegoe

Check out more of his art work at

So to recap... our trip to Spar Art Studio and parking $1.00, early payment for ticket $20.00, hanging out with the Spartan, priceless!

Legendary battle-rap Champion and MTV's "MADE" Rap coach: C-Rayz Walz officially Blind Sided

I've recently had the opportunity to tattoo,  Legendary New York City battle-rap Champion and "MADE RAP COACH" C-Rayz Walz .  He was one of the original members of the infamous rap crew Stronghold, and has been a part of  the New York hip-hop scene for years.

He is recognized as the only undefeated three-time EOW (End of the Weak) emcee challenge champion. He was banned from the Blaze Battles for beating competitors in the past contests and has defeated the worlds best freestylers, including Supernatural and Jin

Others may recognize him from Mtv's "Made" series as "Mad Rap Coach" for a Jewish Minneapolis teen named Nile Greenberg, who wanted to be made into a rapper. The episode featured Ghostface Killah, Snoop Dogg and The Game.

C-Rayz thanks for coming by the studio and chopin it up with us. I really appreciate you kicking down some knowledge. Were all looking forward to seeing you at the next show in December, you know were going to be there. - Mr Siegoe

Bringing Them Back to Austin

It is always our goal as a shop to build a relationship with our clients when given the opportunity. This enables us to create the ideal art for our client's needs and wants. During the Alamo City Tattoo Convention we met our friend Jay Amador. He approached Mr. Siegoe with an idea for getting his name tattooed inside of a cross. It so happens that Amador is also the name of Siegoe's son. With the chance to tattoo his son's name Siegoe wanted to make sure it was just right. He drew up a first draft of the tattoo at the convention but had more ideas for the letters. Not wanting to rush the tattoo or the creation of it Jay agreed to put down a deposit and travel to the studio in Austin to get inked.

A special thanks to Jay Amador for making the trip to Austin. Hope to see you again.

ALAMO CITY TATTOO EXPO

   Alamo City Tattoo Convention

It was a rough start, not at all like the last expo. There was some unprofessional behavior attempting to distract us, however we did not let petty games interfere with our business. Despite the stress, the next two days were great.

People were mainly requesting small tattoos. But sometimes good things come in small packages.

Coincidentely, most of our clients were military soldiers on break, so they were a priority.
We also had the honor of meeting some exceptional artists such as Jose Lopez and all the guys from Lowrider Tattoo, Bob Tyrell, and Paul Booth. Another privilege was meeting and befriending Jack Rudy and the artists from Good Time Charlie's TattooLand.
The big highlight of the convention however, was watching Mr. Siegoe get his very first tattoo by  veteran artist  Antonio Mejia of Good Time Charlie's TattooLand.
Antonio and Mr. Siegoe collaborated on the design of his tattoo, the name of his son,"AmadoR".

Overall it was successful and we enjoyed the networking experience. We look forward to seeing our new clients at the shop. Keep in touch guys.

Slinging Ink Tattoo Expo 2009

Round 2:
It was the shop's 2nd time at the Slinging Ink Tattoo Expo(San Antonio, Tx) and overall it was a success. It was a slow start on friday, but by the time the rest of the crew showed up on saturday, it was on. I was the 1st to hit the chair to work on my chest piece. We finished a 2nd rose and had a 2nd session on my rose buds.

Two of Siegoe's other chest pieces also showed up. Gerald with his skull piece and Tom with his angels. Tom was a repeat customer from last year. His experience went so well the year before that he came back to get tatted again at the convention.

From Lupio's colorful pieces to Siegoe's letters and portraits, compliments were flying from left and right. Everyone was very happy with thier work. I made my rounds and got many compliments from other respectable artists on Siegoe's roses. It's always nice to be complimented by other shops who know what real art is. By Sunday we were all exhausted but we had a great time and it was a good experience for everyone. Can't wait until next year!

Here are some highlights and a few of the many tats that were done.
